You can wear whatever you want, as long as it complies with OSHA standards. This would mean that your upper garment would have to be covered with a "fluid impervious, tightly woven fabiric" jacket with knit cuffs. In other words, a typical lab coat, as long as the cuffs are knit so they stay tight against your wrist instead of hanging open. If you want to wear a shirt and tie, you still can. Technically, you are then supposed to button your coat up to your neck and cover your street clothes, but honestly, not many people can stand that and they leave the top button open.

When you are in school, you will most likely have to wear scrubs under a lab coat. By the time you get done in school, you'll have a good sense of what works for you.
Reply:On the civlian side; once you're through hygiene school you wear scrubs. Depends on your preference. During school just wear what the dress code is...for that matter if you're working in a dental practice check out the dress code which most professional jobs have. Military side; Military uniform than you change into scrubs.
Reply:in the UK he would wear scrubs, or a tunic,

as long as its not something that u wear to and from work i dont think it matters to much, as long as ure work clothes stay work clothes
Reply:scrubs
