Dental Hygienist or Registered Nurse?

I'm a 19 year old sophomore in college. I've always said that I wanted to be a nurse, but since talking with my advisor about my GPA, my mind has been wondering. Nursing is really competitive at my school, my advisor mentioned other alternatives like being a dental hygienist....she told me that a DH pay is higher than a nurse. What are the pros and cons of each profession?

Dental Hygienist or Registered Nurse?
To tell you the truth, nursing is a difficult major. At first it seems okay, but later on, you have to start visiting hospitals and pass an/a examination(s). And your four years of nursing would be a waste of time if you don't pass. (I mean if you want to be a higher-ranked nurse). Go for a DH, I think you'll do great. It has its hardships, but it's less difficult in my opinion. Advisors usually set you on the right path. You can do it! Don't be afraid to make a good choice. Good luck to you.
Reply:Sounds like you have answered it already in the question....DH pay is higher, but the work of a nurse is probably more fulfilling, because it is more difficult.
Reply:You have to really love nursing to be a Nurse. It is hard job. You are asked to work long hours, 7 days a week. Most Nurses that I know are very bitter and depressed, and I do not blame them. Taking care of people is difficult and ages your body. You will be on your feet all day.
