Dental Hygienist?

How much do you make? Is it worth the pay?How long does it take to get a degree?

Dental Hygienist?
The amount you make depends basically on what type of education you have and where you live. you can go for a vocational degree or a college degree depending on how much time and money you want to invest. In rural areas with a 4 year degree you start off between 20-25.00 per hour. I also found out that if you are in an area where the market is flooded with dental hygienist they don't pay near as much because there are so many people wanting jobs and willing to take less to get it. It's location you need to look at. Survey your area and surround area for salary range....
Reply:Thats what im goin to school for. Your pay varies depending in hours, which dentist you for for and experience usually to start out is anywhere from $25-$40 an hour. Its a good career choice but also competitive be prepared to study on fri and sat nights. It can take up to 4 years for a degree i believe
Reply:That's exactly what I am going to school for. After you finish your prerequisites the rest is very intense. Even to get an Associates it can take about 3 1/2 years. This field is growing and was said to be one of the top ten jobs that start at 50,000+. Many Dental Hygienist only work part time.
