To find out for sure, check out www.dol.gov, then go to lmi, then dental hygienist. If you are still interested go to your local One Stop (Employment Office) and see if they can arrange for a job shadowing experience. That way you can ask all your questions, like, what do you like/dislike about the job, how much education, etc.
