I'm a dental student, and was wondering if it's possible to obtain a dental hygiene license (by taking the exam) in the US without attending a dental hygiene program?

I believe you have to graduate from a DH school in order to apply for a license. Try to call your state dental board (also called Board of Dental Examiners) and ask them. They can tell you.
